It is a quantitative study that used the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. Data was collected through an electronic questionnaire, resulting in 175 responses from professionals registered with the Council of Architecture and Urbanism. The collected data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Method (PLSM) with the software SmartPLS v. 3.0. The results indicate a hierarchical order among the dimensions that comprise the entrepreneurial profile of the surveyed professionals, namely: self-sufficiency, planning, sociability, innovation, leadership, and risk. These findings suggest that such professionals have a profile primarily focused on market perception (self-sufficiency), which obtained the greatest weight in the formation of the profile, and planning, which had the second-highest weight. The research was conducted in a poultry processing plant in the Triângulo Mineiro region and involved 157 operators. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results showed that job demands contribute to exhaustion and depersonalization – both dimensions of burnout –, while leader-member exchange quality reduces perceived demands. Additionally, affective organizational commitment, influenced by exhaustion and depersonalization, had a significant effect in reducing absenteeism. This study contributes to the understanding of psychosocial dynamics in the poultry processing sector, which is characterized by adverse working conditions. However, there is still a gap in the literature regarding the testing of more sophisticated models involving variables related to people management and organizational behavior. Notably, the relationship between leadership, human resource management (HRM) practices, and quality of life in telework (QLTW) remains unexplored. Consequently, the main objective of this study was to verify, using structural equation modeling, whether HRM practices can mediate the relationship between leadership and QLTW among public servants who are or have been engaged in remote work. This quantitative and explanatory research gathered a sample of 158 public servants from approximately 50 different organizations. The results revealed the partial mediation of HRM practices concerning the telework context, one of the QLTW factors. These findings represent a contribution to the literature by addressing the identified gap. The aim was to analyze and describe the variables related to the meanings and sense of work, according to the perceptions of the professionals from the mobile emergency care service (SAMU) in the state of Alagoas. The study followed a quantitative approach, with a descriptive nature and a case study design. A total of 226 valid questionnaires were collected, and the data analysis employed descriptive and bivariate statistics, using the SPSS software. The results indicate that the professionals recognize the contribution of their work to the population, as well as their rights and duties, but still feel that their efforts are not fully acknowledged. The sense of their work is mainly derived from its usefulness to society, with the understanding that the outcomes of their work serve a meaningful purpose. Another significant finding was that all correlations between the meanings of work and the variables related to the sense of work were both significant and positive, with either strong or moderate intensities. A qualitative study was carried out with 26 apprentice graduates from different regions of the country. The research was based on interviews, which were submitted to the content analysis technique. The results indicate paradoxes between the social representations of what it means to be an adult and what it means to be a young person, the former referring to work, responsibility and autonomy; the latter referring to lack of experience, dependence and immaturity. These conceptions are based on socially constructed aspects, to the detriment of biological and age criteria. In the process of transition to adulthood, early adultization can occur, highlighting the need for autonomy and financial independence, aspects that tend to place work in a central position in the lives of these young people.
