COMPENSATION FOR AGILE TECHNOLOGY TEAMS
A STUDY OF PRACTICES IN BRAZILIAN COMPANIES
Keywords:

This research aims to identify the different compensation practices applied by companies to their agile technology teams. To this end, a mixed-methods approach was adopted. The quantitative research was carried out using an electronic questionnaire consisting of ten questions, applied to companies participating in the FIA Employee Experience 2021 survey. The data collected form a non-probabilistic sample of 290 companies. The qualitative research was then carried out through interviews with compensation professionals from three companies participating in the survey, which apply some type of differentiated compensation practice to their agile teams. It was possible to identify that most companies do not apply differentiation in their rewards system for agile teams, showing that this is still a practice under construction. When differentiation is applied, it occurs through financial rewards, granted through the achievement of essentially collective goals, and in salary, since the fixed compensation of these teams has a higher market positioning than that of other areas. Other practices observed are related to greater flexibility and agility in decisions about remuneration, managing teams in broader salary ranges and with greater autonomy for managers in a scenario of greater competitiveness of qualified labor in Technology.
