Abstract

A crescente visibilidade de condições neurológicas, como o Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) e o Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção com Hiperatividade (TDAH), vem acompanhada da banalização do diagnóstico no espaço público. A divulgação de laudos em redes sociais, “chás de revelação de diagnóstico” e conteúdos virais que associam comportamentos a transtornos revelam a tensão entre informação científica e espetacularização midiática. O estudo investiga em que medida a exposição de laudos médicos contribui para a conscientização ou descredibilização das lutas das pessoas com deficiência e transtornos do neurodesenvolvimento. Fundamenta-se na comunicação e percepção de riscos e em pesquisas sobre neurodiversidade e mídias digitais. O corpus reúne postagens no Instagram analisadas pela técnica de análise de sentimento (Maia e Hauber, 2022). Os resultados mostram que, embora o compartilhamento digital de diagnósticos possa fortalecer identidades, tende também a simplificar condições complexas e reforçar estigmas. Conclui-se que a forma de comunicar diagnósticos nas mídias sociais é determinante para seus efeitos simbólicos e deve seguir princípios éticos da comunicação de riscos.

Author Biographies

Cilene Victor, Universidade Metodista de São Paulo

Professor at the Graduate Program in Communication at the Methodist University of São Paulo (UMESP). She is one of the leaders of the research group "Humanitarian Journalism and Media Interventions" and professor of the undergraduate course in Journalism and Public Relations. She is also a professor at Paulus College of Communication - FAPCOM. Has a postdoctoral degree from the Graduate Program in Planning and Territorial Management, concentration area Environmental and Urban Risk Management, Federal University of ABC (UFABC), PhD in Public Health in the University of São Paulo, with a thesis in the field of Environmental and Technological Risk Communication, Master in Scientific and Technological Communication and specialization in Applied Health Communication and Bachelor of Journalism. She has been teaching since 1995, working in Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations courses, where she has taught subjects such as Communication Theory, Comparative Communication, Communication History, Specialized Journalism, Opinion Journalism and Editorial Product Management. From January 2013 to December 2017, she was professor of the Journalism and Public Relations courses at Cásper Líbero College, where she also worked in postgraduate studies (lato sensu), coordinated the Interdisciplinary Research Center for three years and served as editor. She works as a researcher and consultant in the areas of education, communication, science, environment, sustainability and climate change, focusing on the relationship between communication and perception of natural disaster, environmental and technological risks. He has been researching and developing projects focused on the role of communication in the context of climate change, sustainability and disaster risk reduction - DRR, in which he has also provided consultancy to public, private, national and foreign institutions, and the third sector. She was a UNESCO consultant, "Product Consulting" category, assisting the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation in a project aimed at the study and development of alert systems at the national level for the National Center for Disaster Monitoring and Alerts. Naturals - Cemaden. Attended the Third UN Disaster Risk Reduction Conference in Sendai, Japan, with a presentation at the Ignite Stage session. For a week, she was a guest expert at the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction at the Ask an Expert session. As a science and environment journalist since 1991, she has served as a commentator, columnist for area vehicles and editor of specialized magazines such as Com Ciência Ambiental (2007-2011) and the Brazil-Germany Dialogue of Science, Research and Innovation (edition until 2017). In journalism, she has also sought to work with narratives that associate the impacts of climate change with the humanitarian crisis, focusing on forced migrations. She is the creator of the Journalism and Disaster Risk Reduction Collective - JRRD, which specializes in the production of investigative and multimedia reports. Since 1991 he has been covering UN climate and climate change conferences, such as the Rio 92 side events in Sao Paulo, Rio + 20 in 2012, and the last three Climate Conferences - Paris (COP21), Marrakesh ( COP22) and Bonn (COP23). As a volunteer, she has given lectures and workshops to various institutions on communication and culture of peace, risk communication, sustainability, information and adaptation to climate change and the use of social networks in communication actions in the context of global protocols and agendas such as Marco. of Sendai, 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Paris Agreement and New York Declaration on Refugees and Immigrants.

Amanda Ganzarolli, Universidade Metodista de SP

Doctoral student (2023/2027), Master in Social Communication focusing on refugees with disabilities in the area of community communication, citizenship territories, and development at Universidade Metodista de São Paulo (UMESP) with support from CNPq. Postgraduate student in ABA Intervention for Autism and Intellectual Disability at the CBI OF MIAMI Institute. Holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication, Journalism, from Centro Universitário Nove de Julho. Worked as a volunteer press officer for the global program Helping Hands in São Paulo for 17 years and is a member of the Research Group on Humanitarian Journalism and MEDIA INTERVENTIONS (HumanizaCom). Experienced in communication with TV reports, news production, press relations, social media, video editing, photography, and event organization. Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Adobe Premiere Pro, SEO, Digital Marketing, and the use of Microsoft Power Platform for crisis management in press relations.
