Abstract

This article aims to answer the following question: what is the role of labor rights in the perspective of social citizenship? Robert Castel's theory about the protection of social rights as instruments of citizenship was adopted as a theoretical framework. As a result, it was found that labor rights are fundamental for the promotion of the individual's social citizenship. The method of inductive approach and dogmatic-legal research of bibliographic and documentary nature was used, through the consultation of works and legislation.
