Abstract

The development paradigm and the reflections on the culture of peoples have consolidated in developing countries, expressing reference to a developing countries, expressing reference to a development motivated by economic requeriments, based on the western capitalist model. Relevant to this reflective analysis, there is the critical post—developmentalist theory, reinforcing indicators of identity, place and integration, establishing his anti-colonialism struggle; on the other, there is the social approach of Boaventura de Sousa Santos, highlighting multiculturalism and the essence of a emancipatory community development. In this perspective, the comparison that is outlined profiles critical aspects addressed by both theorists, that is, this idea of forced economic growth and, at the same time, highligthts the impacts produced in the various cultural and local realities. The discourse of vigorous economic development as an argument for potential adequacy, disrespects social issues and the valuation of cultural identity among peoples. For this, the work methodology makes use of the hypothetical-deductive method, a descriptive study with an essentially bibliographic referential basis.
