Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the expansion of the internet and e-commerce and the emergence of shared economy platforms, as well as the resulting impacts on employment and consumption relations. A brief history of the expansion of the internet and e-commerce is presented to demonstrate the importance of the theme, given that the shared economy works essentially in the electronic environment. The article also brings the definitions of solidarity, collaborative and shared economy, demonstrating the fundamental characteristics of each one of them. Next, the problem of consumerism is presented as a distortion of most current capitalist economies, which serves as a starting point for the search for a more sustainable and humanized economy. It then goes on to demonstrate some of the main current problems related to the inadequate implementation of the shared economy, such as the precariousness of labor relations and the disrespect for consumer rights. Finally, the article presents some points that have already been addressed in legislation and jurisprudence and others that have not yet been addressed. The deductive method was used to prepare this article, through a bibliographic review of articles, works and information from the World Wide Web.
