AS NEW INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES AND PROTECTION OF THE DEMOCRATIC REGIME

Abstract

The article analyzes the strategies to protect the democratic regime with the use of New Informationand Communication Technologies. To do so, initially, the crisis of democracy and its unfulfilled promises will be analyzed. Then, the beneficial and Harmful consequences that the New Informationand Communication Technologies bring to the democratic regime will be presented. Finally, it will be possible to conclude on which strategies can be used so that the use of such Technologies helps in the protection of the democratic regime. Therefore, it is na exploratory research of the phenomenon, with a theoretical-descriptive character and a qualitative bias, which contemplates the hypothesis that the new information and communication Technologies can be useful tools in there solution of the crisis that democracy is going through, being such a hypothesis based on the used references, little explored by the researches that deal with this phenomenon and, thus, having originality in this Field of research. The deductive method, the historical-comparative procedure method and the indirect documentation research technique are used.
